36-Hour Fast

Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the health benefits associated with Intermittent Fasting (IF). Given my multiple chronic conditions, I’ve decided to try this option. Participation in IF is associated with decreased levels of inflammation.

This morning, I completed a 36-hour fast. I only had black coffee, plus a large quantity of water, during this fasting period. I’m thankful that the menstrual-like cramping that I had been experiencing since my hysterectomy has finally ended.

Last evening, I noticed that my thinking actually felt clearer. It really wasn’t that difficult to do this 36-hour fast. I noticed that I developed increased insight about mindless eating as a result. You know, when you’re not really eating to satisfy hunger.

I’ll be continuing to incorporate IF into my lifestyle. I’m excited about the potential health benefits.
