Last Sessions Before Surgery

Today, I had sessions with several residents at a nearby nursing home. Given that my surgery is less than a week away, this was the last time to see each of them for some time.

I informed each resident that I would need to take time off to have surgery, and that I wouldn’t be back for several weeks. I shared that I would miss our weekly conversations, too.

Every resident shared that they would be praying for me to have a successful surgery, without any complications. I feel so deeply blessed to be able to work as a clinical psychologist in nursing homes.
