Multigenerational Malaise

It’s a sunny morning, the last Monday of April. I’m continuing to feel dizzy, for the fourth day in a row. I wasn’t able to take my low-dose Valium this morning, due to needing to drive. Thankfully, I’m not as dizzy as I was over the weekend.

This morning, my daughter and I are driving to the nursing home where my mother is currently receiving therapy. Prior to my mother’s upcoming discharge, we need to receive instruction regarding wound care for my mother. It really helps that my daughter is a registered nurse.

Later this afternoon, I’ll be taking my daughter to the orthopedic clinic. She needs to receive a fifth cast, for a metatarsal fracture. Thankfully, there is evidence of some healing in her fracture to date.

Even without the additional challenges imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the last few months have been exceptionally challenging for my family.
