Craving Solitude

I’ve just finished a very long day of seeing eleven clients in a nursing home. It takes a lot of emotional energy to actively listen to clients’ diverse ranges of concerns.

After a day like this, I honestly crave solitude. It really takes a lot out of me to be fully present for so many diverse clients.

On my drive home, I began to aggressively clear my throat. I certainly hope that this doesn’t mean that my relatively quiet subglottic stenosis has decided to suddenly wake up.
