Today, I presented a lecture about forms of learning, including both classical conditioning and operant conditioning. I found this to be a very difficult lecture to deliver.
The material itself isn’t the easiest to absorb. There are a lot of acronyms to remember, including US (unconditioned stimulus), UR (unconditioned response), CS (conditioned stimulus), and CR (conditioned response).
I freely admitted to my students that this wasn’t the easiest lecture for me to give, since I personally struggle with fully understanding these concepts myself.
An earlier version of myself would not have been able to admit this inadequacy to a room full of students. However, the current version of me thinks that it is perfectly acceptable to admit one’s relative areas of weakness.
