Fear of Disclosure

Recently, I’ve been seriously contemplating disclosure of my MS diagnosis to my students. Part of me says that this will allow me to feel more relaxed, since I feel extremely self-conscious whenever I slur my speech.

Another part of me feels that my students will begin to question my competence as a professor. Obviously, I can’t take it back once I have disclosed this personal information.

What to do?

  1. Brett Bahr is a news anchor on TV, and he has disclosed that he has MS – no one would question his ability or qualifications. Pray about it, and the Lord will show you his best plan,
