System Overload

This afternoon, I paused to reflect on the past three months. So very much has happened. I moved, which in and of itself is a major stressor.

In addition to moving, I’ve encountered multiple stressors related to my ongoing medical problems. I had yet another dilatation surgery for my subglottic stenosis, plus a consultation at the Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion regarding a tracheal re-section.

I experienced repeated post-injection reactions to Copaxone, a medication I first started using in 1998. My neurologist and I discussed discontinuing Copaxone. I just completed baseline testing to start taking Aubagio.

I was referred to a new gynecologist. I found out that I have a uterine polyp. I’ve been continuing to experience menorrhagia each month. Within the past few weeks, I’ve been experiencing increased low back pain. On July 1, I’ll have surgery for the endometrial polyp.

During this same time frame, I’ve been continuing to provide psychological services at a nearby nursing home. I also recently added a second nursing home facility.

Yes, I’ve most definitely been on system overload.
