Using Shopping Cart as Walker

More times than I can possibly remember, I’ve experienced increased MS symptoms while shopping. This has happened while I’m grocery store, or in a department store. It’s the major reason why I prefer to shop online.

I’ve hung tightly onto a shopping cart when I’ve experienced increased paresthesias in my lower extremities. It’s also been useful when my fatigue has been particularly severe. Increased fatigue causes my legs to feel like overcooked pasta.

I’m sure that the overwhelming majority of fellow shoppers never even happen to notice my increased MS symptoms. After all, I walk, unassisted, as I enter a store to shop.

When my subglottic stenosis is worsening, I also benefit from using a shopping cart. It’s extremely tiring to be short of breath with minimal exertion.
