Experiencing change is an indisputable part of life. Some changes are inherently much more stressful than others to go through.
This remains true for passing through all different types of transition, whether they happen to be positive or negative in nature. All types of significant changes require us to go through the powerful process of adaptation.
Stress has a powerful impact on the symptom severities of chronic illnesses, especially those that are autoimmune in etiology. Many symptoms will temporarily flare during periods of increased stress and adjustment. Thankfully, this does not necessarily mean that any particular illness itself has worsened.
I’m currently in the midst of going through multiple transitions. I’ll be moving to a new residence in only one more week. Consequently, I won’t be terribly surprised if my symptoms temporarily reflect experiencing profound lifestyle changes.
