Achieving balance in our lives is always a challenge. This is even more true when you are faced with the additional demands of managing chronic illness. I truly have such a wide variety of activities and interests.
Attempting to scale back my activity level is no small accomplishment. Nevertheless, it is absolutely necessary in order to minimize my symptom severities. I simply have to accept that I can’t possibly accomplish all that I set out to do on any given day.
As a result, I partially complete my “to do” list on any given day. Periods of reasonable activity absolutely need to be interspersed with times that are specifically allocated for simply resting. When I foolishly violate this basic tenet, my body rebels with increased symptom severities.
