Highly Motivated, But Deeply Exhausted

When you essentially appear healthy, people typically assume that you are. Consequently, they expect you to be able to do all of the things that healthy individuals are fully capable of doing.

Even when you suffer from debilitating fatigue, it may not be detectable to others. As a result, they may erroneously conclude that you simply aren’t terribly motivated to get much done. I struggle with this, on a daily basis.

What you see isn’t what you get. Sometimes, it feels like a Herculean task to simply get out of bed, take a shower, and get dressed. Doing so makes me feel like I have been running for several miles, in fact.

Actually, it truly doesn’t. I felt much less tired even when I had run several miles. I used to be physically active, significantly thinner, and healthy.
