Today’s commute home was a rather stressful one. I only felt comfortable driving 30 miles per hour the entire way, given the very slippery road conditions that I encountered the entire way. I managed to deliver my lecture regarding schizophrenia this afternoon, despite still having a very sore throat. I always try to engage my students in a meaningful discussion during class. Sometimes, this is exceptionally challenging to accomplish.
I consistently try to embellish my lecture material with relevant examples that I have personally encountered as a clinical psychologist. Today, I asked my students if they’ve learned useful information about psychopathology, as a result of being in my Abnormal Psychology class. I so want to impart the importance of being sensitive to those who struggle with mental illness, in all its various forms.
