Whenever I happen to experience an exacerbation of my MS fatigue, it has profound consequences. My ability to function normally is seriously impaired. Even my strong degree of motivation is not sufficient to overcome this Herculean challenge.
MS fatigue is truly debilitating, on every possible level. It significantly affects my cognitive abilities, as well as my physical performance. Tasks that I would typically complete with relative ease appear all but impossible to finish, in the context of profound fatigue.
My speed of information processing is definitely slowed when my fatigue is particularly severe. When I have deadlines for task completion, this impairment escalates my overall stress level. In turn, my fatigue becomes more severe, too. It should be clearly evident that there’s an overwhelming probability of downward spirals occurring when you have chronic illness.
