My new position, at a local nursing home, requires me to submit my psychological notes electronically. Initially, it was a bit of a learning curve to master the nuances of electronic note submission.
Now that I’m becoming more familiar with the process of using a tablet to create all of my notes, I’m beginning to appreciate several advantages of submitting my notes in this manner.
Quite honestly, I don’t have the best handwriting anymore. MS has more recently begun to adversely affect the quality of my penmanship. It’s far easier to read notes that aren’t a challenge to decipher.
I don’t miss my the archaic, inefficient method of photocopying and filing my own notes in patients’ medical records. In addition, this is a much more efficient method for referring physicians to receive my initial pychological evaluations of their patients.
