Grading on A Curve

I just finished grading my student’s first examination for my Abnormal Psychology class. It consisted of both multiple choice questions, as well as short-answer questions.

I decided to modestly curve their test scores, given the overall distribution of results. In general, I believe that my students are highly motivated to do their best. I didn’t offer a review session, nor a study guide, to assist them in preparing for their first examination.

In my opinion, Abnormal Psychology is a very challenging course. Based upon the results of the first examination, I will definitely offer a study guide for the second examination.
