Pelvic Ultrasound

I just finished completing yet another medical test. I needed to have a pelvic ultrasound, since I have been experiencing persistent vaginal bleeding, for the past seven weeks.

Because it was difficult to view all of my reproductive anatomy clearly, I also needed to have an internal pelvic exam. Each of the clinicians involved had a very difficult time finding my right ovary. (Ovaries do normally shrink as we age).

The initial assessment of my exam revealed that my endometrium appears much thicker than it should be; this is consistent with my persistent menorrhagia. Again, I will wait for test results. Once more, I’ll consult with a new specialist regarding my results.
