Never Be a Morning Person

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been a die hard night owl. Getting up early in the morning has never been easy for me. I can do it, if I absolutely have to, however.

This morning, I needed to be up much earlier than usual. I started to wonder if my circadian rhythm has had anything to do with my development of chronic illness.

Over the years, I’ve certainly tried to alter my intrinsic biological rhythm. I was even masochistic enough to have once signed up for an advanced calculus class, which started at 8 a.m.

Nevertheless, I’ve always been most productive later in the day. Consequently, I no longer attempt to fight these tendencies. I complete more work, in the same period of time, when I work with my body’s natural tendencies.
