I strongly think that naps are highly underrated! Our society places a very strong emphasis on being driven and productive.
We’re bombarded with pressure to keep going, at all costs, to accomplish as much as possible in any given day. Therefore, stopping to take a nap is viewed by some as simply being lazy.
However, taking a much-needed nap can actually boost our overall productivity. There’s no sense in continuing to push yourself when your body is simply in need of additional rest.
Taking the time to take a nap can help to restore your energy level. This allows you to work more efficiently, and to accomplish more than otherwise would have been possible.
Those living with chronic illness need to intentionally schedule periods of rest throughout their daily lives. Doing so is necessary, as opposed to merely indulgent. Napping isn’t just for kindergartners!
